Deputy Director of Customer Relations  

John is the Deputy Director of Customer Relations at the Tenancy Deposit Scheme and is a former practitioner in the lettings industry with over 25 years’ experience. He has a keen understanding of the Private Rental Sector, and in addition to his work in Estate Agency John has worked within tenancy deposit protection since 2009 moving from a key role in the adjudication team.

John has presented many training seminars, forums and industry events and delivers the successful TDS Academy throughout England and Wales.

Carl Whittington has over ten years' experience in the lettings and estate agency industry, primarily focusing and specialising in Client Accounting. Building up the majority of his experience through working for Leaders Romans Group, he previously managed the Client Accounts and was also an integral part in the success of the vast number of acquisitions over the years. Carl now works as a Business Development Manager for The Letting Partnership, a Propertymark Industry Supplier who specialise in the outsourcing of Client Accounting, who continually look to raise standards within Client Accounting and Client Money Protection.

Shazin is a qualified tax advisor and joined Haines Watts from the tax advisory team at Grant Thornton in 2014. He has led the way in providing businesses, individuals, and property landlords with crucial tax and business advice.  Shazin recently became Partner and is focusing on the growth of the office and advising SME businesses.

I have been working at Rentokil Property Care for over 23 years, starting as a sales negotiator, surveyor, service manager, branch manager and now area manager. I was the first surveyor from Rentokil selected to sit the CSTR and CSSW industry exams which paved the way for all of our surveyors to follow suit. I pride myself on the level of service we give and the ability to provide the correct solutions to clients big or small.

ARLA Propertymark, Chief Executive

David Cox is Chief Executive of ARLA Propertymark. He joined ARLA, Association of Residential Letting Agents, in January 2014 bringing a sharply focused policy and stakeholder engagement perspective. David has worked alongside a diverse board of experienced practitioners from across the industry to transform ARLA into ARLA Propertymark, an organisation which protects consumers through measures including Client Money Protection, campaigning for mandatory regulation of the lettings industry and raising professional standards. David has held senior policy roles at the National Landlords Association (NLA) and the International Union of Property Owners (UIPI); a trained barrister, David has also acted as Parliamentary Advisor to a well-known backbench MP.
