After graduating from University College London, Robert spent 12 months in the Intellectual Property Department of Allied Domecq in the City before going on to Law School and qualifying as a solicitor with the Birmingham firm formerly known as Edge and Ellison.

A partner of Dutton Gregory since 1987, he founded the Landlord and Tenant Department in 1993. Robert’s work includes more complicated dilapidations and possession cases and work for a number of clients with large block management portfolios.

Peter’s career as a property professional began over 30 years ago, during which he has covered every aspect of the lettings market. He has been actively involved with ARLA Propertymark and now in his second spell as President is determined that with the announced move to full regulation, we play a major role in the creation and enforcement of the regulatory framework.

The Property Ombudsman

Katrine Sporle CBE became The Property Ombudsman on 1st November 2015. Previously, Katrine was Chief Executive of the Planning Inspectorate for England and Wales. Prior to that, Katrine was Chief Executive of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. The role of the Property Ombudsman is to resolve disputes between buyers, sellers, tenants or landlords of property in the UK and Agents.  The Ombudsman also has a responsibility to contribute towards establishing best practice in the property agency sector.  Summaries of cases are regularly published and the Annual Report highlights significant matters within the industry.
