Green Deal Secondary Legislation

The secondary legislation required to implement the Green Deal later this year has this week made progress in Parliament. Five separate statutory instruments have been considered as a group:

  • Draft Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (Amendment) Regulations 2012
  • Draft Green Deal (Energy Efficiency Improvements) Order 2012
  • Draft Green Deal Framework (Disclosure, Acknowledgment, Redress etc.) Regulations 2012
  • Draft Green Deal (Qualifying Energy Improvements) Order 2012
  • Draft Electricity and Gas (Energy Company Obligation) Order 2012

In the Commons, the legislation was considered by the Second Delegated Legislation Committee, and approved.  The House has also formally approved the Orders. In the Lords, the Secondary Legislation Scrutiny Committee considered the legislation and reported its findings.  The legislation will now be debated in Grand Committee on Monday 23 July.
