ARLA, NAEA Consultation Process Goes Forward

22 March 2006

After considering the report by the Chief Executives of ARLA, the Association of Residential Letting Agents, and the NAEA, the National Association of Estate Agents, into a formal structured integration of the two organisations, the National Council of ARLA and the Policy Committee of the NAEA have recommended that the proposals are put to the respective memberships.

The Chief Executives reported on "The options and desirability or otherwise of a more structured formal integrated relationship between the two professional bodies." The report also considered the extended services and benefits to members and a stronger voice with government the media and other relevant organisations.

A full consultation process will now take place. This will include the ways of achieving closer integration and the methods required to ensure that the wishes of both memberships are properly reflected in the final decision.

It is expected that the full process for both requirements will be completed during the summer. This will allow the final stage to be announced early in September.

The CEOs Final Summary Report is available to read in the ARLA Member's section, where you can also download a printable version of the report.
