After considering the report by the Chief
Executives of ARLA, the Association of Residential Letting Agents,
and the NAEA, the National Association of Estate Agents, into a
formal structured integration of the two organisations, the National
Council of ARLA and the Policy Committee of the NAEA have
recommended that the proposals are put to the respective
memberships.
The Chief Executives reported on "The options and
desirability or otherwise of a more structured formal integrated
relationship between the two professional bodies." The report also
considered the extended services and benefits to members and a
stronger voice with government the media and other relevant
organisations.
A full consultation process will now take place.
This will include the ways of achieving closer integration and the
methods required to ensure that the wishes of both memberships are
properly reflected in the final decision.
It is expected that the full process for both
requirements will be completed during the summer. This will allow
the final stage to be announced early in September.
