Number of Scottish managed properties above average according to ARLA PRS report

According to ARLA’s latest monthly PRS Report for December, the average number of properties managed per branch in Scotland was 248, well above the UK average which was 188. This trend has been consistent in recent months and represents a strong finish to 2016 for the private rented sector in Scotland.

Universal Credit - benefit payments to be made directly to landlords in Scotland

Ban on fees - Consultation to start in March/April

The Government has announced that the consultation on banning letting agent’s fees to tenants will take place in March/April 2017. The announcement came during a debate in the House of Lords this week where Baroness Grender, who introduced the Renters' Rights Bill, tabled a question asking about the “steps to implement a ban on lettings fees announced in the 2016 Autumn Statement.”
