Paul Shamplina Founder of Landlord Action and known in the industry as the ‘The Landlords Friend’ and the star of Channel 5’s ‘ Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords’ , will present a seminar on ‘How to attract new landlords and retain them’, this has never been more important, especially  with the  ‘fee ban’, which came into force June 2019. With over 25 years’ experience in acting for landlords and letting agents, his seminar is not to be missed.

Philip Keddie FNAEA, CRLM, FARLA (Hon), MAPIP

Philip has been working in the south west property market for almost 40 years, having started in sales before transferring to lettings 25 years ago. He has been an active member of both NAEA and ARLA Propertymark over that time; and has been a Board member for the last 5 years. He is passionate about the industry and wants to engage with members and share that passion and pride for what we do.

Paul Shamplina has spent over 25 years helping landlords with bad tenants. As co-founder he set up Landlord Action in 1999, they are market leaders and longest serving independent company specialising in fixed fee property recovery and tenant eviction in England and Wales.  Landlord Action is Regulated by the Solicitor Regulation Authority.  He has acquired a reputation as the landlord’s friend in the press.


He appears regularly on television, radio and within the national and regional press; as well as speaking at seminars to landlords and letting agents.

Paul ‘s latest TV appearance was on Channel 5’s successful series  ‘ Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords’, He is now filming series 6, which is out next year.  He is also on the Advisory Council for The Property Redress Scheme and has been advised the Government on a Think Tank on Speeding Up Eviction Process, along with consultation on the Deregulation Act and Housing Courts.  He is the Brand Ambassador of Hamilton Fraser, for brands such as My Deposits, The Property Redress Scheme, Client Money Protect, Total Landlord Insurance, Landlord Zone and Tenant Verify.


Paul has also launched his second book called ‘The Landlord’s Friend’, with Property Commentator Kate Faulkner and runs a successful workshop for Letting Agents in their offices.

Michael is the National Head of Real Estate Disputes Team at Towers and Hamlins, specialising in all aspects of property related disputes acting on behalf of both residential and commercial clients including institutional investors.  He advises on all aspects of property litigation His experience also includes acting on joint venture agreements and largescale regeneration projects including PFT contracts.  Michael has a particular expertise in residential disputes including breach of lease, service charges and related areas.  He speaks regularly on all aspects of property disputes and has extensive experience in both the First Tier Tribunal and the Upper Tribunal.

Paul founded Awardaroo! in 2005 and has since worked with many businesses including estate and letting agents in helping them to improve their profitability by developing improved business skills. Paul has worked in project and programme management at 02, Vodafone and many others, so managing change is in his blood. Paul is passionate about helping letting agents improve their businesses one behaviour, and one business skill, at a time.
