Regulations confirm extension to the ban on bailiff evictions

On 19 February 2021, the UK Government laid the Public Health (Coronavirus) (Protection from Eviction) (England) (No. 2) Regulations 2021 which confirm the extension to the ban on bailiff evictions until 31 March 2021.

A further extension to the ban was announced on 14 February 2021 to continue support renters during the lockdown restrictions. 

The UK Government state the measures will be kept under review in line with the latest public health advice.

Guidance

The UK Government has updated its guidance to reflect the change in dates. Exemptions remain in place for the most serious circumstances such as illegal occupation, anti-social behaviour, and arrears of six months’ rent or more.
