Kivells raises nearly £2200 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Friday 20 January 2017

Kivells are proud to announce they have raised a grand total of £2,183.83 for McMillian Cancer Support in 2016.

The charity was chosen as Kivells charity of the year and the staff have been working hard to support the charity in every way they can.

All the offices across Devon and Cornwall have been getting involved and have hosted coffee mornings, wig days and charity runs to name but a few. A special mention goes to NAEA member Sam Turner, Property Manager in the Liskeard office who will be running the London Marathon to raise funds and awareness.

The money raised will go towards supporting cancer sufferers and their families across the country. There are 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK today, and as more people live longer with cancer, this number is set to grow to 4 million by 2030.

The money raised by Kivells could fund one of the following:

  • Buy 43 microwaves for cancer sufferers making it easier to prepare their food
  • Run a large Macmillan information centre for 16 days
  • Pay for a Macmillan nurse for 78 hours

Kivells would like to extend a big thank you to all those who have helped raise these funds, whose support will help make a difference to people affected by cancer.

Kivells will shortly be announcing their charity of the year for 2017 and will be looking for new ways to support and raise money for this year.
