New first-tier Tribunal, forms and Tenant Information Pack for Scotland

On 1 December 2016 three changes were made by the Scottish Government which affect the private rented sector. These include a new First-Tier Tribunal Housing and Property Chamber, new versions of AT forms and an updated Tenant Information Pack.

New First-Tier Tribunal Housing and Property Chamber

From this date, the Private Rented Housing Panel which currently deals with disputes arising from the Repairing Standard and with certain rental disputes was abolished. It has been replaced by the First-Tier Tribunal Housing and Property Chamber

New versions of forms AT5 and AT6

Changes have been made to the various forms used in Assured Tenancies and Short Assured Tenancies. The new forms, including the new versions of forms AT5 and AT6, are now available. ARLA members can access a Word version of AT5 via our online store.

New Tenant Information Pack

To reflect the changes the Tenant Information Pack has been updated. The Tenant Information Pack gives information to tenants in privately rented housing and in particular the responsibilities of tenants and their landlord. At least one pack should be provided for each tenancy agreement and where one has not been provided fines of up to £500 can be issued.
