Line-up announced for ARLA Propertymark Conference 2019

Monday 14 January 2019

Just when you thought this year's ARLA Propertymark Conference couldn't get any bigger, we've added even more incredible industry names to the line-up.

Taking place on 2 April at ExCeL London, the ARLA Propertymark annual conference and exhibition is the largest and best attended event in the lettings calendar - with audience figures reaching well over 1,500 last year - and 2019 will be no exception.

This year's programme will focus on the importance of legislation, and how to keep abreast of industry issues. Topics high on the agenda this year will include the Tenant Fees Bill, Right to Rent. We’ll also explore business models of the future, asking what types of agencies are best placed to survive the rapidly changing landscape, and there will be a panel debate in the morning on property standards and licensing.

Keynote speaker

World-renowned behavioural economist, author, and a senior journalist at the Financial Times, Tim Harford OBE, will deliver a captivating keynote speech titled 'How to see into the future', where he will bring economics to life, making it interesting, engaging and dare we say, fun!

Whilst a ‘serious’ economist with a career spanning Oxford, Shell and the World Bank, Tim will tailor his theories and ideas to deliver a presentation just for us, with examples that are relatable to professionals working in the lettings industry.

Panel debate

And that's not all, we also have a panel of esteemed experts lined up for this year's debate, as they take on property standards within the Private Rented Sector. Our very own David Cox will be joined by former Mayor of Newham, Sir Robin Wales, property pundit Richard Lambert, Senior Research Fellow at the University of York's Centre for Housing Policy, Dr Julie Rugg and Shelter's Polly Neate. This will be your chance, not only to hear from some of the sectors top influencers as they discuss the ever-changing legislative landscape, but to also get involved and ask the questions that matter to you via

Peter Savage, ARLA Propertymark President, said: “Every year, the ARLA Propertymark Conference presents attendees with an opportunity to hear the latest updates on legal and legislative changes, and of course to network with like-minded individuals from across the industry. With the Tenant Fees Ban probably coming into force just a few days after the Conference, this year will also offer delegates essential information about how to survive in a post Tenant Fees Ban world; with keynote speaker Tim Harford focusing specifically on how to adapt your business model.

“This is our fourth year at ExCeL London and the number of attendees continues to rise. Last year over 1,700 industry professionals attended the event throughout the course of the day, and we expect this year’s to be the biggest and best ARLA Propertymark Conference to date.”
