The beginning of a new era

Monday 17 June 2019

On 14 June, after several weeks of voting for board and presidential roles, Propertymark’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) revealed who will be taking us forward into the coming year.

Phil Keddie, Consultant at Expert Property Lettings at Sunshine succeeds Peter Savage as President of ARLA Propertymark, with Richard Selwyn now President Elect and Maxine Fothergill becoming Vice President.

Phil has a wealth of experience in the industry with over 37 years’ experience under his belt and is sure to be a formidable leader.

In Phil’s speech he said: My vision and hope for the coming year is to bring this Gold Standard to the High Street and let the public see property agents at their best, providing a service that exemplifies professionalism and creates a long term relationship based on trust.

“We will need to go further. Do more. Be seen and be known for going that extramile for our clients. Make ourselves indispensable, and at the heart of that keep both our landlords and tenants safe.

“My drive to become President has always been to make sure that members are notjust getting value for money but added value for money.

“I want members to recognise the reasons why they belong to the largest professional lettings association in the UK, with over 10,000 members.  We have frozen our membership fees, yet our services and offerings to members have increased substantially over recent years.”

David Cox, Chief Executive, ARLA Propertymark said: “The lettings industry has been hugely impacted by changes to legislation over the past year, and our thanks go to Peter Savage who has helped members prepare for these changes. We welcome Phil Keddie, who has extensive experience in the industry, to the role and I look forward to working closely with him as we tackle the first year of the tenant fees ban.”

Propertymark is very excited for the year ahead and can't wait for Phil to start his new role.

The presidential team will be heading across the country and coming to a Regional Meeting near you soon - so keep your eyes peeled!
