Agents in Scotland to be ready to open for business from 29 June

Monday 22 June 2020

As announced on 19 June, the Scottish Government’s phased exit plan has moved into Phase Two to be introduced in stages and guidance has now been published for agents. Whilst it’s not a return to normal, house moves will be permitted.

Following the current safety guidelines, agents can also prepare residential properties to be ready to move in or undertake any activities to make the property or land ready for sale.

The Scottish Government has prepared guidance for everyone to adhere to, which includes information on safe house moves and viewings for both vendors and agents. They have a clear message that this isn’t legislation, and to prevent it from becoming so it must be followed.

The Route Map published on 21 May showed the Scottish Government is carefully and gradually lifting lockdown restrictions with criteria to be met to progress through it.
