Housing market now open in Scotland

Monday 29 June 2020

As announced on 19 June, the Scottish Government’s phased exit plan has today, 29 June, moved into Phase Two which allows agents to open for business but under strict guidance.

The Scottish Government has issued guidance and FAQs for agents to adhere to which includes information on safe house moves and viewings for both vendors and agents and replaces all previous guidance on home moves during the pandemic. They have said that whilst the guidance isn’t statutory, it should be followed otherwise they can legislate and take further action.

The Route Map published on 21 May shows the Scottish Government’s plan on carefully and gradually lifting lockdown restrictions with criteria to be met to progress through it.
