Scottish Government releases phased route map

A five-phase route map was released on 21 May, with a brief mention in Phase One about the safe reopening of the housing market.

The Scottish Government will move into Phase One following the 28 May end-of-cycle review of COVID-19 regulations if the evidence supports that.

There is no set date for the reopening of the housing marketing, however, in Phase Two of the route map the Scottish Government anticipates a relaxation of restrictions on housing moves. However, there is no specific date for the commencement of Phase Two and will want to have seen evidence of transmission being controlled.

The route map gives an indication of the order in which the Scottish Government will carefully and gradually seek to change current restrictions. It provides practical examples of what people, organisations and businesses can expect to see change over time.

Propertymark is reviewing the guidance and talking to the Scottish Government to update members and agents about what this means for their businesses as soon as there is clarity.
