Lettings Refresher — The Basics

This one-day course provides an overview of the essential letting knowledge required of all property professionals. The session takes the most-asked questions answered by the ARLA Propertymark Regulation Team and the Legal Helpline to ensure attendees feel confident in their day-to-day roles. Common topics covered include understanding the differences between statute, contract and case law, how to protect deposits, and rights around property access.

This course is also flexible in nature, allowing attendees to receive the answers to their most burning questions. Whether you are new to letting property or simply need a refresher of the recent changes in legislation, this course is designed for letting agents at any level.

Meet Your Trainer

Penny Schofield

Penny Schofield

Penny is a Solicitor Advocate who, following a spell as a Prosecutor, worked in a busy Landlord and Tenant Department for a large law firm. In addition, she set up and ran her own lettings agency for some 10 years before selling it and concentrating on providing comprehensive training for Letting Agents throughout the country.

Penny has been a trainer for Propertymark for over 16 years. Penny has worked for the Home Office developing Anti Social Behaviour Policy (ASB) and joined their Task Force to promote the new ASB Legislation amongst both the Private Sector and Social Housing. In 2008 Penny was appointed H M Coroner for West Sussex.
