This introductory virtual course will outline the various intricacies involved in valuing commercial property, including capital and rental valuation bases, factors affecting value and statutory controls. The course will also cover the common challenges faced in the commercial sector such as over rented property and zoning of rental properties.

Part three:

  • Methods of valuation continued

  • Premiums and valuing leasehold interests
  • Valuations for rent review purposes
  • Property inspection and reports

This course comprises of three 90-minute sessions with breaks in between each session.

Michael Hughes

Michael is a Chartered Surveyor and Director of MJD Hughes, a company specialising in Business and Commercial Property. He has over 30 years’ experience in the licensed trade and commercial property ranging from the physical operation of a variety of outlets (single bar units to multiple bar operations over multiple site locations) to the estate management of commercial property.

Michael is a Fellow of NAEA Propertymark, NAEA Commercial and sits on the Governance Board for Propertymark Qualifications.
